At a special meeting of the leadership Bishop Ferguson announced that as of December 10, 2006, "The Diocese of San Antonio" (EOCC) and "The Anglo-Catholic Benedictine Province of Texas" (OSB) were released from the Archdiocese of Baltimore (Ecumenical Orthodox Catholic Church) by Archbishop Byron Branham, OCSB; Bishop Ferguson was also released from his responsibilties as Suffragan Bishop of the Archdiocese.
After much discussion and prayer our leadership decided to deactivate the "Diocese of San Antonio" (EOCC) and the "Anglo-Catholic Benedictine Province of Texas (OSB).
After consultation with our attorney it was prayerfully agreed upon to establish the"Mission Parish of Saint Benedict". Our Lubbock ministry will be known as "Saint Benedict's Chapel".
Our corporation documents will reflect the changes in name and ecclesiastical status. The status of all canonically resident Benedictines will remain unchanged unless they desire to transfer to another Benedictine province.
The "Book of Common Prayer" and the "Book of Divine Worship" are authorized for all liturgical expressions of "the faith once delivered unto the saints" as we continue to teach the three great streams of faith: Catholic, Evangelical and Charismatic.
Bishop Ferguson will continue as Pastor of "Saint Benedict's Chapel".
